Happy With Glory

"We prefer to remember the '90s in all its decadent, overdone glory"  said Better Homes and Gardens.  I agree with glory, I love these rooms!  Let's take a peek.

Forever Summer in this room with many patterns just like outdoors.  Galvanized metal will stay in the garage.

There's no plain Jane here.  Grey didn't dare enter, it's a vibrant spot for breakfast.  The light fixture appears to have a frosted glass so you don't endure the bare bulb look.

Blue ginger jars used here and are still going strong.  Hmm....I wonder how flowers go out of favor?  Are they not allowed to grow in the garden as well?

White walls and white ceiling are grounded by fabrics.

Wonderful!  Red, white and blue.  "Decadent, overdone glory." Yes to glory!  Decadent?  overdone?  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  I see comfort and beauty.

Pattern and color.  You wouldn't need a bleach pen for this sofa.

Wallpaper unifies the large closet.

What a fun look!

The yellow is a bold choice and it works for many homes.  The drapes are wonderful.

Lots of red with light wood furniture.  No distressed furniture here.

Loving this room!  The blue is calming and so complimentary to the wall color.   Beautiful art on the mantel and over the shelf that sits above the glass doors.  You see a lot of blue in today's decorating.

I see a great idea with the plates surrounding the mirror in the bedroom.

This is inviting and feels almost like sitting outside except with no mosquitos or heat. The rug adds a luxurious feeling.  I don't understand no rugs.  They can bring a room together so well.  Go buy a rug!

  2. Oh girl........let's just move right in and be neighbors!! That would surely be glory! I didn't see a THING here that I would change, except it needs to be installed in my house in the middle of podunk Texas!!
Thank you SO much for restoring my hope for the future of décor.
Blessings and have a magical July 4th!

  3. I totaly with you about missing this style of decorating. The all white, chippy, less is more look is so boring and lacks originality and personality. Love the living room in the first photo!
