Late Spring Yard/Garden Party Two

We have really pretty blooms on the oleanders and the blue hydrangeas.   I am happy to share them with you today.

The bowl on top of the feeder is an attempt to keep the squirrels from stealing all the bird food.   The hydrangeas and oleanders are blooming at the same time and we are enjoying the combination of colors.

I had hoped I would have enough blooms to do a vignette with the hydrangeas this year but I don't think I will.  We had alot of the wood to die off last year so the blue hydrange bushes by the back porch are smaller over all this year.

Maybe no playing with them, we'll see.

Does anyone recognize these flowers below that are on my back porch?  They are such pretty colors but I don't know if they like shade or sun.  My daughter bought them for me but they had no tag.

A baby goose is called a gosling.  A group of geese is called a gaggle.  What a cute gaggle of goslings!

Parents are very attentive!  The gaggle of goslings grew. ;)

This little flower is covered in dust from the sanding the infamous pine table.  Anyone recognize this flower?

  1. Oh my Jan, that photo of the two together is breathtaking! The colors just stole my heart. I only dream of having Hydrangeas like that! I have 5 bushes and 1 tree planted in my yard, but that variety does not do well here. Mine are all still small, but my Limelight tree puts on a fabulous show. Not sure of the name of the first flower, but the last two are Sweet Williams. They are classified as annuals here in UT, but mine come back. If you cut the spent blooms they will bloom a long time. The first one may be Vinca. Kind of hard to tell in the photo. Thanks for sharing with the Garden Party. Oh, and loved the geese as well!
    hugs,
    Jann

    1. Thanks Jann! I will have to remember that tip on the Sweet Williams, thank you! The hydrangeas do pretty good here as we live in the south.

  2. Hi Jan-
I have never grown hydrangeas. I don't think they are suitable for zone 9.
The hot pink flowering bush in my photo is bougainvillea. Thank you for commenting on it- it is one of my favorites.
    Have a wonderful week,

    Laura

    1. Thanks Donna! We throw a little fertilizer on them but that's it. Our soil is acidic and that take them to the blue side, I believe. Thank you for the visit!

    1. Thanks Kelly! Those two bushes get a fair amount of morning sun and noon sun. They bloom much quicker than the ones we have in the shade.
