The mirror is a classic beauty and is reflecting my bookcase which I was hoping it would but I was surprised it did so well. I decided to play that up and brought books over to the mantel that are housed on the bookcase as well. Dried hydrangeas add texture and interest to the whole look of the mantel.
There are Blue Willow plates on each side of the mirror. I like the blue because it ties in with the other blues in the room. The blue in here helps cool down the red sofas.
It is hard to do a post this time of year without sharing some of nature's beauties.
The hydrangeas all came from my yard except for the red ones. ; )
It is amazing how much light it brings to the room. At night it reflects the lamps but not in a glaring way, it is a soft reflection of light. I do have to admit that I am not used to seeing myself sitting in here while watching tv.
So there you have it! The third Fall mantel I have shared with you. There's always another way to dress your mantel!
Jan

DeleteVicki and I just knew you and that mirror were meant to be together!!! Absolutely gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary! I am so thankful you thought about me when it was time to part with it! Such sweet sis-in-laws!
DeleteOOOOOOO! I love it! Your mirror is gorgeous. I have one very similar but not as pretty as yours in my dining room. I love how you've poked the hydrangeas in your vases! And of course, I love the Blue Willow plates too. I got bunches of Blue Willow! Your nature snaps are so pretty! Thanks for popping in to see me. I wish we could visit in person - I think we'd get along just great! ;)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Thanks Sheila! I am super grateful for my sweet sister-in-laws! They didn't let it get away without letting me know about it. The next time you decide to go way down south you just give me a shout out and we can sip sweet tea and boiled peanuts. ; )
DeleteJust beautiful Jan! I need to be more like you with my mantle, besides changing it up for Holidays it stays the same year round. I guess because I don't know where I would put the stuff that I take down.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the beautiful inspiration and have a wonderful rest of your week,
Gina
Thank you Gina! I know it can be a challenge to have enough room to store these things we need. If I only had an extra room to store things in my house would stay a lot neater!
DeleteWe all have our favorite place in our homes, that most reflects ourselves...this is definitely yours...smiles love them all! Sandi
DeleteThanks Sandi! I do have favorite places but they change all the time. : )
DeleteYour mantle looks fabulous! I LOOOOVE that mirror and also that you hung it to reflect the room. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Pinky! I am happy with it, now I need lots of different colored plates for the different seasons, Lol!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Stacey!
Deleteahhh...I love your pretty fall mantel...there should be a Mantel Party somewhere that we could all share our pretty mantels....hmmmm
ReplyDeleteThank s BJ! That's a great idea! We might better hurry because I know some of the ladies are starting on Christmas.
DeleteHi Janet, beautiful look for the mantel. The mirror is gorgeous. I think change is good and you can show your creative side. Happy Monday.
ReplyDeleteThe mirror goes so well with your decor, especially on your gorgeous mantle! I love the idea of stacking books and using them as part of your vignette! I'm missing the true fall colors of autumn. Everything here in AZ is brown and green due to all of the rain this summer.
ReplyDeleteThanks Oliva! We finally are getting rain today. It became so dry we had a burn ban going on. I am hoping we will get a little more color before Christmas arrives.
DeleteBeautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY!
Blessings,
Cindy
