Hey! How are ya’ll? There are rose buds appearing everywhere in my backyard. Rosebuds fascinate me, well every flower bud intrigues me. I love taking photos of them. Of course the roses are beautiful but the bud is the rose baby. It’s a tiny little life.
She has a pretty profile.

My daughter, April, has planted herself an herb garden. She has chives, pineapple mint, thyme, catnip, lemon balm, purple basil, sweet mammoth basil, Genovese basil, apple mint, German chamomile, Russian tarragon, sage and fern leaf dill.
Chives, thyme, tarragon, sage and dill can be used in a variety of dishes to add great fresh flavor. You can add chopped dill or chives to butter to make herbed butter.
My daughter loves to make Caprese salads (basil, tomato and fresh mozzarella) so she planted three different varieties. Isn’t the purple basil pretty?!
Who knew there were so many varieties of mint ~ basil mint, chocolate mint, orange mint, the list goes on. She decided on the pineapple and apple varieties. The leaves are so refreshing crushed and stirred into sweet tea!
Catnip, lemon balm, lavender and chamomile can all be used to make herbal teas. They all have a gentle relaxing and calming effect and can be mixed together. Catnip and lemon balm also repel insects and can be used to make all natural homemade insect repellent.
