Late June Yard
We saw some interesting changes over the last couple of weeks in our yard. Let's go see...
Hydrangeas turning a green color kissed by lavender.
The sunflowers have just begun to bloom.
My sunflowers all came from this single dried sunflower! Somehow the others got thrown out. I realized I could use it during the winter in a vignette and this summer it's seeds were harvested!
Wisteria blooms after the bush was cut back.
Pink petunias are going strong, they came back in the pot they were planted in last year.
Dried zinnias were used for this year's flowers.
They make such pretty cut flowers.
I love to display them inside.
If we have enough blooms virtually every room has a bouquet.
Lots of baby and big dahlias.
A summer party a while back with Rose of Sharon on the table.
Elderberry blooms.
The lake in the summer.
Mimosa trees have such pretty blooms.

A Little Prettiness
It's definitely hot summer time and I know so many of you are vacationing now. I hope you are having a blast whether you are at the beach or hosing down in your backyard.
Just a little prettiness. Roses reflected onto mirror underneath.
Hydrangeas wanted their turn as well.
Here roses beside a plate.
Roses on a plate.
A sweet vignette.

Cool Mornings With Blue
Early mornings are required to be spent outside. There's much to see from the day before. I love blue this time of year when it's so hot outdoors. After spending time watering I like to cool off inside with blue around me. Blue is always the color I turn to in the summer to cool off. The brighter the blue the more intense the cool. It can be as simple as a vignette with a blue and white dinner plate and fresh flowers. The magenta flowers turn up the intensity of the blue. The blue hydrangeas cool things down even more.
You don't have to use a lot of new things to visually cool your home down. I love blue plates out and love to pair them with colors that intensify the hue.
Fortunately my wallpaper in the dining room has a rich blue included. But to tell you the truth I wouldn't let anything stand in the way of blue in the summer.
Vintage glasses hold the hydrangeas. The lavender lamp bought so many years past. Magenta carnations paired with another flower from the local chain store.
Love those sweet dahlias!
Wisteria in June. After it was cut back, we gained some blooms.
They look so different according to the time of day and light.
I know neutrals are popular but the green on my buffet helps the blue stand out more.

Fathers
Hello, I hope you are enjoying this Father's Day weekend. This is my third time to share this post. I think it can resonate with any of us on this very special day. A day to be thankful and reflect on memories. Memories of our husbands, fathers and grandfathers.
Very old Family Bible. Time long ago spent.
Baby's birth so long ago.
He smoked a pipe. So did my grandfather.
Mug used for shaving.
Old roses in a old French Press.
Tokens of lives lived
