Over Soon
For some this is a very hard time of year. That doesn't begin to express how some feel. This is not going to be a post about Christmas but what we have to look forward to in the upcoming year.
For some the Christmas season is a reminder of the depth of pain they live with. It's a dark time for them. They take it one day at a time. One hour at a time.
But you have to know that like the seasons of the year this season will pass. The calendar says ten more days and you have survived it.
With the changing weather we quickly change from dark and dismal to leaves still showing their beauty. They don't know the month says December.
Winter can be a wonderful time to be plan. Planning can be as small as ordering seed catalogues and deciding what you will plant in pots on your back porch. It can be a distraction. Something to bring you peace if only for a few minutes.
Planting seeds or plants is a promise of life. No matter how small it may seem it can bring joy, beauty and nourishment. We all need to feel those things.
To witness a golden field in January....
Will we have snow this winter?
Just a few months into the new year we see the signs of Spring. The Japanese Magnolia is the first to bloom out my window. It's always a welcome sign that Spring is arriving.
And the others are soon to follow.
A Spring birthday.
What will you plant this year in your garden? In your life? Will you be making changes?

Gorgeous pictures! The holiday season is a rough one for many folks. I love this post because it reminds us that we can plan for warmer weather when things start to bloom and it is time to plant the gardens. We all need something we can anticipate with joy.
