Fever For A Cabin
We were fortunate to be able to visit a spot away from home. Big Cedar Lodge outside Branson, Missouri is all about nature and this time of year is the perfect time to go for me. Years ago we went more frequently and I was so excited to have a chance to see the Fall foliage. Not a frost yet, so not much fall color, however we had a relaxing time. We had a cabin this time instead of a room and it makes a huge difference in comfort level. Our daughter was with us and a two bedroom with a kitchen worked perfect. There was a grill on the balcony that we definitely enjoyed.
We had hoped it would be chilly enough for a fire. They had the fire wood beside the fireplace and outside placed by the door for us.
I loved how they did this kitchen. It goes with the cabin look so well without being too dark.
That's actually a white refrigerator with the wood panel over it.
We caught this beauty in Arkansas close to the Missouri state line. And yes, I cropped out the top of the mountains...
Lots of color to be enjoyed if you keep your eyes open.
I saw these berries used in Christmas trees here. No financial compensation for this post, it's just so amazing I wanted to share it with you.
Chipmunks everywhere, we don't have them here so they were fun to watch.
Our view at lunch. A chapel on the resort sitting in front of the large lake and the Ozark mountains.
Interior photo of the other chapel here.
Lots of waterfalls!
Eeery cave riding!
Another nice view of the lake.
A few more shots of the cabin.
There's a tree growing in here!

Jan,
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious "walk down memory lane" for me , dear friend!
Many, many years ago, "Mr. Ed" and I took our sons to Big Cedar Lodge
between Thanksgiving and Christmas for a family get~away!
Our room "The Longhorn" was similar to yours!
I remember our youngest son shooting the remote through the window!
"Mr. Ed" didn't catch on for quite a while. .. it was hilarious!
Snow fell during the night and I had early morning coffee in my pj's
and robe as I watched the "local's" geese sit down on the pond outside!
A "magical" time for me. . .the year before our eldest son left for College!
Thank you for sharing your lovely photos!
Do they still have "The Cookie Lady" bring you an evening sweet snack and turn down the beds?
Fondly,
Pat
It stays with you, doesn't it Pat! We have been going on and off for years and it's always a special trip when the weather is cooler. That is so funny, I might have to borrow that idea with the remote sometimes when we are traveling and am tired of news.
DeleteThat sounds magical, just perfect with the snow in the early morning..sigh! And oh yes, she came by everyday with our cookies!
Such beautiful decor and design ♥
