It is done. I have tolled on this tree and mantel for more than three days. Just don't touch or sneeze on it because it will come crashing down! Not really! The tree is loosely designed around pink and blue. But I couldn't make up my mind so I threw a fair amount of lavender and purple. I was back and forth on the colors so I just threw them all in there. ; )
I used lots of blue throughout. It keeps the red calmed and I can live with it better. Yes, the lady with two red sofas just said that!
I thought I was low on blue balls and ordered some blue and pink Shiny Brites off Ebay but as you see I have plenty of blue! I forget to show you my plaid throw!
There, that's better!
The pink and blue ribbon was something I bought many years ago and never used. It never really worked with my Christmas trees over the years. But it is in it's glory now, adorning the tree. It was a Walmart find. No, they didn't pay me to share that with you. The lavender hydrangeas were bought from Hobby Lobby when they had their florals on sale right around Thanksgiving. I very loosely do a themed tree. I like to have old ones we bring out each year and mix in new. I don't generally do a true themed tree.
This was my starting point even though I thought I was playing around take photos. There is the pink and blue card along with the pink berries and sits on a lavender plate. The colors I subconsciously chose!
I didn't do a close up of the vintage shiny brite balls because you could see my reflection and it would have been just a whole lot of me. So I spared you from that with a close up of the new balls!
If you look close a gold ball is under the chest holding the tv. It decided to fall off the mantel as I was taking photos! Keeping it real!
Vintage mercury glass balls mixed with others are on view behind the sofa. A red sequined cardinal is sitting handsome along with the cardinals on the pillow seen on the sofa.
Taken at night.

Wow! That is a stunning Christmas tree and the blue coordinates very well with the mauvey colors. Visiting from the charm of home. Nice to meet you.
ReplyDeleteThank you Stacy! So nice of you to come over and introduce yourself. ; )
DeleteHi Jannie Pooh! Oh, your tree is just gorgeous! How do you do it? The blue plates and balls and then the scrumptious pinky colors - so pretty! Your mantel is beautiful too. Love all of the colors you've used. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers for our little Carter.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
You are too sweet Shelia. Carter will remain in my prayers. I am so glad she is able to go to school at least part time. My daughter was quizzing me on the color scheme, saying it was so not me! It just felt like a pink would be fun to go with this year, something fun and not too serious.
DeleteI love the color combination and your tree is so pretty. Loving that blue so much, nothing like Shinny Brites!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cathy! It's been fun to use pink this year with the blue. I think the pink is similar to the pinky reds I have used in the past. But do you know what I did? I lost a box of the pink Shiny Brites and didn't find them until tonight. I have stacks of containers in the dining area and it was hid under a lot of stuff. It's hard to stay organized when you are doing more than one room!

DeleteJan,
ReplyDeleteExquisite!!!
I adore the choice of your color palette, dear friend!!!
Since I've retired and am home most all of the time. . .I couldn't do a red and green theme, either!!!
I adore how your Christmas Tree accentuates the design of your living room!!!
Thank you for sharing!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Thank you Pat! Sounds like you know how hard red and green Christmas decorating can be to live with constantly, maybe it's the glitter, I don't know. Thank you for commenting, Pat.
