Fall Dining

Hey! How are ya’ll? There’s a small table on the back porch waiting for us. I am so glad you came by, I have hot apple turnovers and lattes with cinnamon.

But the cold air is on its way so we better enjoy sitting outside while we can.

Red Maple Tree, oh how I love these trees!  This is my neighbor’s but hopefully we can plant one this Spring.

This is definitely my favorite time of the year, what about you?  Living in the deep south, we are now seeing fall colors all around us.

Ran across these vintage plates years ago.

You can see our little forest back there.  Before we put up a fence we had deer come up to the house a good bit.  One morning I was sitting in the living room and looked out the window and a huge buck was staring at me through the window.  I couldn’t breathe!  It was magical!  We have a lot of deer down here but it’s always exciting to see one.  It makes me feel like a young girl that just saw Dasher.

Pretty Foliage

Hey!  How are you?  I wanted to wait another week but we are supposed to get a big freeze very soon.  So I got busy taking photos of the pretty foliage.

November Delights

Hey! How are you? We had a chilly morning here and I have taken a few pics I want to share with you.  I am not showing this on a dining table today but you can use any of these ideas for your Thanksgiving table.  If you want a bit more drama, you could double it.  Two ‘bowls’ of pumpkins instead of one.

Grocery store flowers!  You could put two arrangements down the center of your table.

The ‘vase’ I am using for my flowers is actually a candleholder.  I have my flowers in a tall glass sitting inside of the candleholder.

Fall leaves in a vase.  Again two would be very dramatic!

Pretty Fall leaves are always a nice touch on your table.  Just be sure to shake out any bugs.

Frosty Roses in November

Hey!  How are ya’ll?  We received our first frost this morning.  The roses put on a show!

But our Fall color is just starting to peep out and probably will be peaking in a few weeks.

My daughter makes a terrific salad that I may ask her to make.  It works great at Thanksgiving.

And when our trees are peaking the camellias are looking very pretty.  Of course this coincides with our Christmas parade and everyone is decorating for Christmas.

So I am torn between admiring the beauty of our trees in all their glory ablaze with color and figuring out which way I am leaning on decorating for Christmas.  November makes me feel torn in two but I think it’s my favorite month of the year.  Lots to do and so much to feel grateful for.

He Grew Roses

Hello  friend.  I hope you have been well.

Fall makes me remember.   Sitting in a classroom and reading a book surrounded by children with the rain and chill outside.  It was a cozy cocoon.

Friday night meant chocolate milk.

When we were younger she would gather us to her bed and lay down and read the Bible to us.

She taught me humor.  To laugh despite the trouble.

He grew roses.  Beautiful roses.  Neighbors came to view their beauty.

Fall was a favorite time of the year for him.

And for her as well.
