Excuse Me

Excuse me, I am still in Fall.  The leaves are still here and I want to squeeze every bit out of them I can get.  Nature's beauty, her shining star still surrounds me.  I am still in awe and am unable to move forward to the Christmas season just yet.  I will be quiet and just share the beauty.

Giving Thanks and Christmas

Thanksgiving is upon us and it is truly a time to express our gratitude and thankfulness of all the wonderful freedom we are free to receive.  During this  time of year it makes one truly appreciative of those freedoms.  Free to express our beliefs without persecution is a right afforded to every citizen of our wonderful country.

IMG_2994
I hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving.
IMG_3018
I thought I would share a few photos from last Christmas with you.
IMG_3497
I think it will pretty much look the same this year.
IMG_2601
But stayed tuned, because you never know.  I may just pull something out of my arse and like magic it will be transformed!

IMG_2502
That's a quote from my mister!
IMG_2512
I know you are all very busy with the holiday season upon us.

IMG_2564
It's a wonderful time of merriment and beauty.
IMG_3261
Like fairies sprinkled fairy gold dust on all our Christmas goodies.

IMG_2524
Happy Thanksgiving!

Falling Up The Road

We had some really chilly weather over the weekend.  Did you?   We went for a road trip but not too far.  We ran across some old southern homes and Fall planters fill with beautiful Fall plants.
IMG_6510
I had to get a photo of this home looking just perfect for Fall.  Please notice the urns that look like they are painted a mustard yellow for the plantings.  The orange tones in the wreath really say Yes!  the pecan pie is ready, do come in!

IMG_6512
This is a side shot of this pretty home.  I just love how it is landscaped.

IMG_6515
This baby is getting a facelift it seems.  Isn't it wonderful when old homes are brought back to life?!

IMG_6492
There were such pretty plants in the planters downtown.  I had to take a few photos.  This would be a great thing to file away and pull back out next year when Fall arrives.

IMG_6498
Just beautiful!  I wish I could tell you what these plants are.  Such pretty Fall colors!

Gathering Christmas Photos

Are you gathering your Christmas photos from the past to give you an idea of what direction you will be going this year?  May I just go ahead and tell you that I want to pull my hair out of both sides of my head, at the same time, and run screaming into the woods beside my house?!   Maybe I can hide out there until January, then go inside my home and take a long awaited bath. (It would only be a month and a half, geez!)  and ask you all if you had a good Christmas and we can all pretend I am normal.  No?  That won't work?  I figured as such.

Aesthetic ~ Concerned with beauty or the appreciation of beauty.  Giving or designed to give pleasure through beauty; of pleasing appearance.
Obsessed ~ Preoccupy or fill the mind of (someone) continually, intrusively, and to a troubling extent.

Yes, that would be me right now!  So today I want to share with you some of my Christmas photos from the past.

I haven't bought anything new so you just act surprised when I show this again in December and say Oh you did a great job!

Christmas in my bedroom.  Remember that picture on the wall?  It was last seen in my living room but it's upstairs again.  That was my grandmother's little ceramic green box with the rose on the lid.  The perfume bottle was a gift many years ago by a dear friend.

The mantel last Christmas.  I feel myself being swayed back to this look but I have a new to me mirror that deserves the spotlight this year.

You can see the age of the mirror here.

Especially here!  I didn't know I would love the look of the old vintage mirrors as much as I do.  It pairs so well with vintage Christmas decorations.

IMG_0166
Same mirror but you can't quite see the age as well.

IMG_0058
I had moved the Christmas tree across the room, you can see the reflection in the mirror.  My mister thought I had lost my mind because it was blocking the front door.  I told him everybody comes through the kitchen so it doesn't matter.  I got quite a look from him. : )

November Table

I have a table set that is so appropriate for the month of November.  It has warm tones and just a hint of glitz because we are getting close to that special time of year.  Think of it as a table that could be used through November and December.

IMG_9976
Deep red roses paired with oranges!

IMG_9930
They are actually mandarins.

IMG_9902
Oranges are used a lot in Christmas decorating as well.  It must smell divine!

IMG_9826
Such a frail looking beauty!  I have one camellia bush blooming.

IMG_9844
The bush has little bitty buds all over it.

IMG_9930

IMG_9830
A little glitz, after all, it's getting toward that time of year!

Very warm colors here as you would normally see in Fall.  The warm sun really brings out the warm tones.

IMG_9917
Did you notice I switched out bowls and plates?  There's always another way to do it!  I also took photos with the afternoon sun really making the photos look warm and then waited and took them after the sun have moved and everything looks cooler on the table.  That's a lesson in decorating too.  If you have a room that gets only morning light you should try to go with a warmer tone that you usually use because the room will appear cool once the morning sun has moved.  Just a tip!

And a nothing beats a blue background to cool everything off!  I love blue!
