Dorinda's Place

Hello!  I have a special post today!  According to Bravo's site, "Manhattan socialite Dorinda Medley joins The Real Housewives of New York City this season with a fresh and exuberant perspective. Dorinda was born in the Berkshires and, after graduating college, got her start in the New York City showrooms at Liz Claiborne."

"Dorinda moved to London to be with her first husband and started her own cashmere company, DCL Cashmere, with many high-profile London clients like Princess Diana and Joan Collins. After almost 10 years in London, she got a divorce, sold her company, and moved to New York City with her daughter, Hannah, to figure out life in the city as a single mom."

"In 2005, Dorinda met and married Richard Medley, and together they worked on fund-raising for causes with the likes of Desmond Tutu, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and Hilary Clinton. After the tragic loss of her beloved Richard, Dorinda and Hannah became each other’s strength through the difficult time and are now closer than ever."

"She is currently dating John Mahdessian, owner of Madame Paulette, the leading cleaning and restoration establishment of worldwide couture garments in the Upper East Side. Dorinda is always putting her energy and focus into her friends, family, and charity work. She enjoys vacationing and all types of fashion, both high-end and high-street, and considers all of her pieces collector’s items—the glitzier and stylish, the better for this true New York City housewife."  This can be found here.

There are a few screen shots from Bravo's New York Housewives and this is Dorinda's Medley's house.  This room is her living room.  I don't think these shots do it much justice, it was so very pretty on television.

Dorinda is seen here entering her living room.  Seated on the sofa is Kristen Taekmen and Ramona Singer.    Dorinda has two matching sofas in here.  Aren't they handsome and pretty at the same time?!  I don't think I have ever thought that about a room before.  Her walls look lacquered to me.  They certainly blend with the sofas.  That bit of white around the bottom third of the wall keeps it from being too dark.

I love the colors in the art, it really goes well with her colors.  The fireplace mantel is gorgeous.  I could just eat this room it's so pretty.

She has blue/gold drapes.

Be still my heart!  Look at those walls and sofa, with the drapes!

Dorinda's dining room.  That is a very large table.  I love the upholstery on the chairs, they are fantastic!

Heather Thomson and Luann de Lesseps sitting.  Beautiful wood tones used in her house.  There's no heavy and dark but right in the middle which I love.

You get a glimpse of the upholstery here.

Another glimpse of the upholstery used on the chairs which Bethenny Frankel doesn't look like she is enjoying.
