Plate Of Roses

Hey Ya'll!  I hope your enjoying pretty weather today like I am.  I have my doors open and am enjoying this cool weather we never have in May.  My gardenias are blooming and they smell wonderful.  Is it early for them to be blooming?  It seems like they usually bloom later in the summer.

I had a little excitement a while ago when a bird flew in the house!  He found his way out before my dogs found him.  He left a gift for me letting me know just what he thought about my hospitality!

I put together this tablescape outside since it's so pretty today.

The plates I got at a huge discount.  The glasses were my mother's.  The rose fabric I have had for a long time and had just about forgotten about.

I like pretty tables but actually I love bringing out the pretty fabric more.  This is a perfect way to show fabrics.  Of course it's roses.  I am a nut for them.  This fabric is a little warmer than I usually go.  Notice the orange in it.

We planted the roses years ago and they are this very loud color that makes them look almost artificial.  I will throw some 'faux' flowers in the mix now and then but this time it's the real thing!

  2. Birds are such great guests aren't they? I hope he didn't do too much damage or mess! When my kids were all under 10 they left the backdoor open once and a squirrel wandered in and was chewing on a loaf of bread right thru the plastic! Needless to say I don't know who screamed first. Me or the squirrel...lol

Pretty table and I am jealous you have gardenias. I have to gt some! Thanks so much for linking up with me this week!

    1. Oh no! I would be screaming too! Yikes! I like squirrels but that would really have scared me!

Thanks Christine, I love 'playing around' with the table and yes you would enjoy the gardenia for years to come. Thanks again for hosting!

  3. So cool you snapped up the plates at a huge discount, they are beautiful. I loved that you keep the setting simple, allowing the tablecloth center stage.

  4. Jan, I've been poking around your blog and you have a great eye! I could get lost in your posts....so pretty! I love your colors, but I am a red girl, so this one totally floored me! I love that the glasses were your mom's! They are so elegant and I am very sentimental! So glad Brenda sent me on over! :)

  5. Hey Kim! Thank you for your sweet comments! Yes, if you are a red lover you just can't deny it, can you?! Regardless of the trends some of us girls gotta have the color! Oh, I am so glad you liked my mother's glasses, I love using them as they are priceless to me.
