October Sundays

Hello!  What do you do on Sunday afternoons?   The outdoors are so perfect and inviting this time of year.  You can create wonderful fall treats in the kitchen, put a vignette together on the back porch or read a book outdoors.

I have a macho rooster named Ford Henry out here.  He is watching guard over my pumpkins and flowers.

According to P. Allen Smith said this is a Ageratum plant, as he showed his plant which looks so much better than mine.  We didn't plant it, it just showed up.

A little golden rod.

The mister decided to let the strange looking plant to grow in the backyard this summer.  I really had doubts about it.  It seems we have a goldenrod plant now.  I have to admit it makes for good photos!

  1. I love orange-red, purple and lime together. The purple flowers have been abundant along the roadsides and interestates. My asters, are limp in comparison. Love all the color...again...and I do believe, Christmas pig, needs a chicken at this stage to keep company with.

    Thanks for sharing! Sandi

    1. Thanks Sandi! Oh yes, there's a lot out there now for the taking. Fall is fabulous and free! Does your pig have a name or is he simply called Christmas pig?

  2. Hi Jan! Oh, this is a lovely vignette. I love the yard birds and yours is one handsome guy! The golden rod is pretty. Oh, I see some 'orange'! :) Thank you for letting me enter Brenda's party first and I know you're looking so pretty after you've primped up! You are a little stinker, aren't you? I know, because it takes one to know one.
    Be a sweetie,

    1. Thank you so much Marigene! My late father used to laugh at the name I gave that bird and he agreed how macho Ford Henry appeared.
